The pie charts compare the proportion of students who used different transportation methods to go to university in the UK and USA between 2010 and 2015.
It is clear that the proportion of students who used bus and Taxi to travel decreased dramatically during the period 2010 to 2015 in both countries. By contrast, the percentage of students who used other modes of transportation increased over the period.
In 2010, Bus travelers in the UK and USA was 33% and 27% , and this figure decreased to 26% and 24% in 2015, respectively. Between 2010 and 2015, the percentage of students who travelled using taxi decreased from 8% and 19% to 4% and 10%, respectively, a fall of 4% and 9% in 5 years.
The remaining popular methods of transportation were car, cycle and walking in both countries from 1980 to 1990. During this period, there was an increase in the percentage of students travelling by car and cycle from 27% and 17% to 31% and 21%, respectively. Walking also increased significantly as the method of commuting from 15% and 10% to 18% and 11% throughout the period.
