At lunch, people eat more sodium (29%), with a higher amount of around 2% compared with saturated fat. In addition, saturated fat consumption constitutes about 16% of total nutrients at breakfast, whereas it is eaten just 16% in snacks. Meanwhile, sodium is eaten at breakfast and snacks have the same proportion, equal to 14% each.
By contrast, added sugar in snacks makes up nearly a half of the total, leaving around 55% for other meals. At dinner, there is 23% of the added sugar is consumed compared to a priority share of breakfast and lunch, with 16% and 19%, respectively.
