The charts illustrate the percentage of household with electrical appliances and the number of hours spent on housework in households in one country from 1920 to 2019.
At first glance, it is apparent that the data for vacum cleaner and refrigerator experienced a remarkable increase, while the data for washing machine demonstrated erratic changes with some peaks and declines. In addition, the amount of time spent doing on housework tended to decrease through each year.
According to the first line graph, the data for vacum cleaner started at 30% in 1920, then it proliferated to 100% in 2000 drastically. Since the 20th century, it maintained that noticeable change steady and finally completed at 100% in 2019. The difference can not be seen at the figure for refrigerator, while it began at only 0% in 1920. Nevertheless, between that and 1980, it burgeoned from 0% to 100% and it has remained that significant trend after 21st century and finally finished at 100% in 2019. We can see the difference at the data for washing machine, while it began at 40% in 1920 then increased to 70% gradually in 1960. However, betweem that and 1980, it decrease slowly from 70% to 60% but it showed positive growth again and finally reached at 70% approximately.
Regarding the second graph, the data for hours per week began at 50 hours in 1920, but this time went down gradually to merely more than 10 hours in 1980. From that time inwards, the time for housework stayed almost unchanged.
