As the graph shows, washing machines were the most popular among the two items in 1920, with 40%. Afterwards, it experienced a gradual increase until 1960, made up precisely 70% before falling to about 65% in 1980, then it climbed up gradually till 2019, accounting for roughly 75%. However, the figure for refrigerators stood at about 4% in 1920. Then, it witnessed a gradual increase up to 1980, with 100% before levelling off exactly at 100% in 2019. Regarding vacuum cleaners, the figure was similar to refrigerators. On the other hand, the number of hours of housework per week, per household went down over the period given. It started at 50 hours in 1920, it then gradually decreased till 1980, with approximately 15 hours before remained constant at about 15% from 1980 onwards. Finally, it went down to roughly 10 hours in 2019.
