The charts that given demonstrate the difference using of electrical appliances and the number of hours that spent to do housework in a country in the years 1920 and 2019.
Firstly, in the first chart we can see the percentage of households with electrical machines. The percentages are extremely different and started from various numbers. Using of washing machine was about 40 percent in 1920 and started to decrease year by year until 1980. In this year the numbers declined from 70 percent to about 65 or less percent. And grew up again until the end. Using of fridge in the home was zero percent in 1920. But, after two decades it increased to 40 percent. And refrigerator is the only machine that percentage of using never decreased, it only increased year after year. From zero to 100 percent using of fridge in peer house takes only 60 years. Vacuum cleaner’s using was around 30 percent at the beginning. Then it increased 20 percent in every 20 years until 1980. After this year it was 100 percent and there was no any other more percentages.
In addition, the hours that spends for housework in average week. The highest hour is in 1920 and it was 50 hours spent for only washing clothes, making dinner and others. Only in 1980 and 2000 years the numbers were almost same. In other times, numbers only declined.
Overall, both charts numbers and percentages were not same. Percentage of households with electrical appliances like washing machine, fridge, vacuum cleaner grew up year by year even though some of them were almost started from zero percent, while number of hours housework per week, peer household decreased.
