The two pie charts illustrate the percentages of five different categories of goods exported from Great Britain in 2010 and 2015.
Overall, machinery and vehicles were two largest export categories in both years. However the share of pharmaceuticals deacreased significantly, while the proportions of plastics and organic chemicals increased over the five year period.
In 2010, machinery was the biggest export item at 29%, followed closely by vehicles at 28% pharmaceuticals at 27%. These three categories made up the majority of exports. In contrast, plastics and organic chemicals had much smaller shares, accounting for only 9% and 7% respectively
By the year 2015 machinery remained the leading category with a slight rise to 30%, while vehicles also increased marginally to 29%. However, there was a sharp decline in pharmaceuticals which fell from 27% to 18%. On the other hand, plastics rose from 9% to 13% and organic chemicals climbed from 7% to 10%.
