Overall, UK’s males spent more time on leisuring than females, while domestic chores saw an opposite scenario. Moreover, the disparity in average minutes per day for entertaining between them was smaller than that in doing household activities.
Looking at the charts in more detail, in terms of leisure activites, it took men about nearly 140 minutes daily for media like TV, video or radio, which was larger by just under 20 minutes in comparison with women. Additionally, males in the UK also spent more time on playing sports than females, at 15 and 11 minutes respectively. In contrast, both them showed similar figures for reading, at roughly 20 minutes per day.
Taking household tasks into consideration, women in the UK spent most of their time on cooking and washing, at nearly 80 minutes per day, which was more than twice as that of men. Furthermore, shopping and clothes washing and ironing accounted for roughly 35 minutes of women’s daily time, whereas men spent about 25 and 10 minutes per day for each activities. However, their time distribution on reparing was 10 minutes larger than women’s, at just under 20.
