The following pie charts illustrate the preferred takeout of individuals in Canada, while the graph shows the population of Indian restaurants in Canada from 1960 to 2015.
The largest portion of the population, just over one-third, prefers Chinese cuisine. Additionally, about a quarter of people enjoy Indian food. In contrast, the small fraction of the chart dedicated to Greek and Japanese food indicates that there was a relatively low interest in these types of cuisines.
According to the chart, approximately a quarter of the population’s favourite takeaway is Indian food. Consequently, research has been conducted on the number of Indian restaurants in the United Kingdom from 1960 to 2015.
In 1960, there were 500 Indian restaurants. The number steadily increased, reaching over 9,000 restaurants by 2015. However, the proportion of Indian restaurants slightly declined after this peak. At the end of 2015, the number of restaurants had once again reached in the same place, 9,000, which is a significant figure and reflects the growing enthusiasm for Desi food.
