The bar chart illustrates the two main reasons (career and interest) for study according to the different age groups.
Overall, the majority of students in the three age groups (under 26, 26 to 29, 30 to 39) are studying to build up their careers rather than for interest. For both career and interest, students aged between 40 and 49 have the same percentage, and the lowest percentage is for the under 26 age group learning out of their interest compared to the over 49 age group for career.
In terms of the under 26 age group, the highest percentage of students are studying for building their career, about 80% as opposed to the lowest percentage of students studying for interest at 10%. Similarly, the age group of 26 to 29 has a higher percentage on career than the interest (70% and about 15% respectively). For career, percentage of students aged between 30 and 39 (approximately 55%) was over double that of casual learners, which was just 25%.
On the other hand, the percentage of casual learners was higher in the over 49 age category compared to the remaining two categories. Exactly 70% of students who study for their interest, which was over threefold than for career. Between 40 and 49 age category have the same percentage for both career and interest (just 40%).
