The two barcharts illustrate the amount of funds provided for wildlife protection by various sources in African and South America in 2010 and 2020. The amounts are given in US dollars.
Overall, in Africa, funding from tourism revenue showed a dramatic decline in 2020 compared to 2010. Conversely, in South America, all the sectors that support wildlife increased their contributions.
In 2010, Africa’s tourism and revenue sector provided the most significant amount of fund to the conservation efforts at more than 140. However, by 2020, the contributions plummeted by about 50 dollars. Notably, revenue collected from government grants rose from 120 to 140, while that from private donations improved from 80 dollars to 120. Although corporate sponsorship gave the least in both years, the increasing trend was demonstarated albeit only by 10 dollars.
On the other hand, South America had a different pattern. 100% of the contributors increased their giving to conservation efforts. Governemnt grants rose from 90 in 2010 to about 130 in 2020, thus taking the lead among the sectors. Similarly, all the others demonstrated considerable increament. Corporate sponsorship and private donations went up by about 20 dollars while tourism and revenue grew marginally to reach about 60 dollars which was 20 dollars less than Africas figures in 2020.
