The charts illustrate the number of girls per 100 boys and all levels of education – primary, secondary, and tertiary.
Overall, the number of girls increased from 1990 to 2000 among all levels of education, and the figure of developed countries were higher than developing countries in every categories.
In detail, the number of girls who were in primary education slightly climbed up both developing and developed countries between 1990 and 2000, which increased from 83 to 87 and from 93 to 96 respectively. Similar trend can be found in secondary and tertiary education which represented 10 more and 9 more respectively in developing countries. Besides, the number of developed countries showed slight grwoth than that f developing countries but still increased from 98 to 99, from 105 and 112 respectively in secondary and tertiary education.
On the other hand, the number differences between developing and developed countries represented bigger gap in tertiary education compared to primary and secondary education. In 2000, the gap of the number in primary girls between two types of countries were 9, whereas that of tertiary edcuation showed 37.
