The charts illustrate the number of Japanese tourists traveling abroad over a period of ten years starting from 1985 as well as the percentage of Australia’s share of Japan tourist market during the same period.
With reference to bar graph, depict a steady increase in the number of Japanese tourists traveling oversea. In 1985, around 5 million Japanese travelled across the world. These gradually rose to about 11 million in 1990, and then show a slight decline next year. However, by 1995 the Japanese tourist travelling abroad surged to 15 million. Over a decade, the number of Japanese tourists tripled.
With reference to the line chart, reveals the percentage of Japanese tourists visiting Australia. In 1985, the percentage was just 2, which gradually rose to around 4.75% by 1988. Despite a minor drop in 1989, the percentage increase significantly from 4% in 1990 to 6.25% in 1994, before dropping to 6% in 1995.
In conclusion, the number of Japanese tourists’ travel increase steadily, Australia’s share of the market also grow which indicate Australia’s popularity as tourist destination for Japanese.
