Overall, the number of people who were affected by noise pollution in a day in city is higher than that of those who live in rural. Moreover, in both areas, people are least impacted by the noise produced by industry, but suffered the most from traffic noise.
The number of inhabitants who live in citities and rural areas, and were affected by traffic noise was 64 millions and 34 millions, which are 16 and 10 millions higher than those who were influenced by night, respectively. Furthermore, the amount of people who were affected by the noise of train in cities was 10 millions in day and 8 millions at night, which is 2 millions apart. People who live in rural areas also experienced the same ratio between day and night, but with the lower number of citizens of 8 millions and 6 millions.
Moving on to number of people who were impacted by the noise produced by aircraft and industry. There was a million people in both regions who were the victim of noise pollution at night, while in day, that number was 4 millions in city and 2 millions in rural. Moreover, while people from rural areas were not influenced by industry noise, the number of people who were affected by industry noise in city is trivial.
