Overall, men remained dominant throughout this period. In addition, while the pop center was the most popular place with men, women went to the beach the most.
In terms of leisure time, there was a steady decline in the percentage of males enjoying leisure time. Beginning at approximate 90%, the figure for males dropped, and troughed its lowest point at around 70% in 2006. Meanwhile, in 1996, the proportion of females was approximately 40%, which was half as much as that of males. Females experienced a slight growth in this period and reached highest point at 63% in 2006.
Regarding places, with men, the percentage of the pop center accounted for 30%, was three times as much as that of cinemas. The figure for the beach made up 25%, followed by the museum and KTV, which were respectively 20% and 15%. With women, the share of the beach was highest, accounting for 30%, followed by cinemas with 25%. The share of the pop center, the museum, the KTV were respectively 15%,18%, 12%.
