The charts display the percentage of second language classes taken by Australian secondary school students in Adelaide throughout three different years.
Overall, the most popular language classes taken were Japanese and Mandarin, taking up a large margin across all three years, while the least popular classes taken were italian and Indonesian.
Throughout the years, some classes seem to be decreasing with the number of their attendees, most noticeably with Italian and Indonesian classes, which originally had a margin of 10% and 15% in 2012, and then could be seen gradually depleting to 3% and 2% in 2016.
However, other classes seem to have a steady increase in the number of attendees througout the years, with Mandarin classes increasing from 40% in 2012, 45% in 2014, and 55% in 2016. Likewise, the number of students that took classes on other languages also increased throughout the years, from 10% in 2012, to 15% in 2014 and 2016. The only class to stay consistently within a 25%-30% margin throughout the years was Japanese.
