Overall, data for most courses declined during this period. However, there were some contrarian trends, and a new IT course appeared this year.
In 1985, about 24% of students participated in Modern languages courses, which is the highest data among all courses and triple the figure for Music appreciation courses. This was followed by Fitness and dance courses, about 22% of students took part in this course and the data for these courses was slightly higher than that for Art courses. Local history and Cookery courses were the least attended, with respective figures being 15% and 14%.
Thereafter, the data for Fitness and dance courses remained unchanged, slightly higher than other courses except IT courses. The proportion of students who took part in Art and Modern languages courses slightly decreased. Meanwhile, the figure for Cookery courses increased slightly to 19%. Music appreciation and Local history courses were replaced by IT courses with 27% of students participated in, which was the highest data among all courses.
