The three pie charts illustrate the proportion of vehicle formats sold in the USA in three distinct year: 1990, 2000, and 2010
Overall, it is discernible that while the data for car and truck witnessed an upward trend, the opposite was true for SUVs during the surveyed period. Additionally, the share of cars sold made up the largest in all three years.
In 1990, the percentage of cars sold took up the largest at 79%, followed by a significant decrease of 25% in 2000. However, since then, this figure marginally increased to 58% in the final year, 21% lower than the starting point. Similarly, the data for trucks recorded a negligible decline by 1% during the same period despite a slightly rise of 1% in 2000.
Concerning the remaining category, initially, in 1990, SUVs’ rate was the lowest at 6%. Over the next 10 years, the rate of SUVs sold surged to 30%, followed by a slight downward trend, dropping to 28% at the end of the period. Despite the decrease, the data for SUVs reported a staggering increased trajectory.
