The data present the proportion of water used for various aims in six regions of the world.
Overall, most of the areas shown in the charts use a high amount of water for agricultural purposes, save for two areas, Europe and North America, which use almost half of the water resources for industrial usage. It is also apparent from the charts that there is a direct link between agricultural and industrial usage of water resources. The regions in which farming tends to consume more water, industries use less. Domestic use of water resources falls into the last category, forming the smallest proportion of the whole data.
The four regions which are highlighted for the most consumption of water in agriculture are Central Asia, Africa, South East Asia, and South America with 88%, 84%, 81%, and 71% of the overall percentage, respectively.
North America and Europe in turn, use almost half of their water resources for industrial purposes and utilize the rest for both domestic and agricultural aims; each consuming almost a quarter of the whole percentage for households.
