The bar graphs illustrate the percentage of workers across four countries (Germany, USA, Japan, and China) in three main sectors in the years 1980 and 2010.
Overall, agriculture section had the highest share in China, despite having the lowest percentage of workers in the other three countries. While Industry section is vice versa, experiencing the most significant shifts in these states, except for China.
In 1980, the agriculture section was responsible for around 10% of workers across Germany, the USA, and Japan. Conversely, there was a sudden surge, rising to a peak of approximately 70% of workers in China. Moreover, there was a negligible difference between the proportions of workers in Industry and services sectors in Germany, with the former standing first with 60%. Following this, the disparity between the figures was almost a similar percentage in the USA, around 50%. However, while in the former Japan had
around a half percentage, China accounted for the same percentage in the latter with 50%.
In 2010, Industry section was a dominant figure across these countries, for example, Germany and Japan had the highest proportion with just above 80%, with 70% of workers in the USA, respectively. When it comes to China, there was a significant decline to 40% in industry sector. Following this, during 30-year period, only China experienced a significant decrease, from 70% in 1980 to 40% in 2010. In contrast, in Germany and USA, the contribution of workers in service sector was 40%, in Japan, its 30% and finally, in China, the percentage of workers was 20%.
