The bar chart illustrates the population size and life expectancy figures in five different European countries, namely Spain, UK, Italy, France and Germany in the years 1914 and 2014.
Overall, it is notable that population size in all countries experienced an increase, with Germany having the most and Spain the least. It also can be seen that life expectancy also rose in all the given countries and reached the same value by the end.
Regarding to population size, Germany was the dominant in all periods given, with reaching 80 million population in 2014 and over 60 million in 1914, while the Spain recorded the least – with having over 10 million initially and over 40 million in a century-long period. Turning to the remaining countries, UK , Italy and France registered a similar rate – where reached about 64 million except Italy, which stood at exact 60 million.
As for life expectancy, all the countries given illustrated the same data in 2014, where all of them stood at slight over or under 80 million population. In 1914, France was little higher than UK, with at about 59 million for former and 56 for latter. Similarly, both Italy and Germany were at around 50 million, while the figure for Spain was over just 40 million people.
