These two bar charts illustrate the statistics of population size and life expectancy in the period of time from 1914 and 2024. These graphs cover the data across five different European countries. Among them are Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, France and Germany. The distinguishing feature of these statistics is that life expectancy in 2014 for all countries is approximately on the same level.
The smallest population is Spain with about 20 millions, which doubled in one hundred years. The next two countries are the United Kingdom and Italy with a population rate of less than 40 million in 1914. In 2014 their population rose to approximately 62 and 60 million accordingly. France had a population over 40 million, which is more than the United Kingdom had, but in 2014 their population rates were the same. Germany shows the highest rates with fast 50 million in 1914 and striking 80 million in 2014.
Life expectancy became stable over these 100 years. The average age rate in 2014 is 80 years old across all countries. In the past the age of life was far lower. Spain was in the bottom with approximately 41 years. Highest results in the past showed the United Kingdom and France from 58 to 60 age rate. Italy and Germany were also fast on the same level with 50 and approximately 48 years accordingly.
