Overall, at the beginning of the period, eating out sector was the least significant proportion of expenditure by students, while food and drink category was the highest. In comparison, at the end of the period, food and drink trend became the largest still, and clothing and holidays were the lowest.
We can see from the charts that the transport sector accounted for 8% of students expenditure in 2000 and experienced an increase to 9% by 2010. The utilities sector which were containing electricity and water stood at 21% in the period first shown year and had a growth of 6% after 10 years. Furthermore, one interesting pint is that the eating out trend was the lowest in the given first year, but it an increased to two fold from 4%.
In contrast, only one clothing category decreased between 2000 and 2010; it was 16% in 2000, and 2010 witnessed a noticeable reduction in the percentage of student expenditure at one university. Additionally, the other 3 sectors unchanged during the period 2000 and 2010; holidays sector, which comprised 5% of students expenditure. Sports and cultural sector was 17%. Food and drink trend stood at 29%.
