The three pie charts illustrate the data of travelers choosing four different kinds of accommodation between 1988 and 2008.
Overall, how many goers picked hotels and rented apartments for settling witnessed an upward trend while the opposite trend was true for staying with family and camping. Additionally, it is also evident that staying with family is the highest figure in people’s choice for accommodation.
In 1988, 52% of people chose to stay with family, making it the most popular accommodation in this year. This figure rose slightly to 54% in 1998, but fell again to 44% in 2008. The percentage of visitors picking camping declined gradually over a 20-year period, from 26% in 1988 to only 12% in 2008.
In 1988, the proportion of traveler’s using rented apartments was only 7%. However, this figure rose consistently to 22% in 2008, which is similar to the figure for hotels in the same year. 15% of travelers chose to stay in hotels in 1988, but then increased sharply to 22% in 1998 and remained unchanged in 2008.
