The pie chart illustrates the share of holidaymakers using four different kinds of accommodation in three years: 1988, 1998, and 2008.

Overall, in the period of twenty years, while the proportion of holidaymakers choosing a camp to accommodate significantly dropped, the percentage of people using a rented apartment dramatically increased. In addition, staying with family in their own houses remained the most popular option for holidaymakers from 1988 to 2008.

In 1988, the share of holidaymakers using rented apartment was the lowest, accounting for just 7% of the total. It was closely followed by the figure for hotels with 15%. In 1998, there was a slight increase to 13% in the percentage of people choosing a hotel as their accommodation for holidays, and then it remained unchanged until 2008. The period from 1988 to 1998 also observed a slight increase in the share of holidaymakers using hotels to accommodate, but after that, this figure grew dramatically to 22% in 2008.

In contrast, there was a fluctuation in the proportion of people choosing to stay with family in their own homes between 52% and 44% in the period of twenty years. But it still managed to remain the most popular choice among 4 types of accommodation. The figure for camping experienced a dramatic drop, from 26% to 12%, which makes it the least chosen option by holidaymakers for accommodation
