The two pie charts illustrate how much people in a certain European country are spending on commodities and services in two different time periods.
The first chart reveals that in 1958 about 32 per cent, just shy of a third, of people’s spending were towards food. This number, however, did not stay the same and was decreased to a mere 12 per cent in the span of 50 years. In contrast, The amount that people spend on housing went up from 22 per cent to about a third. Making it the now the commodity is the most sought after, from its previous second place.
People are also spending more on luxuries as a ten per cent increase in spending can be noticed taking up to 17 per cent of people’s total spending the same as how much people spend on travel and transport which has more than doubled from 1958 to 2008 from 8 per cent to 17.
Clothing is somewhat without any significant changes but the same can not be said about entertainment where there is a noteworthy decrease.
Overall, total spending habits in this country have changed some.
