The circle charts illustrate the percentages of students from one university in England who were able to speak other languages than English in 2000 and 2010.
Overall, the majority of all students in both years could speak Spanish. The percentage of students who could not speak any other language decreased, and popularity of other languages, and the proportion of people knowing two additinal languages rose.
Knowledge of Spanish only remained in first place, and saw an increase of students by 5%, while the popularity of knowing other language rose from 15% to 20% and becomed the second most largerst shard in 2010. Moreover, pupils who could speak two other languages increased from initial 10% to 15% between the time span.
On the other hand, the percentage of people that speak French only fell to a two-thirds of its proportion from 15%, whilst the proportion of people speaking German only remained on the same level of 10%. Furthermore, the number of people not speaking any other language declined by a half to 10%.
