The charts illustrate the percentage of students in one of the British universities who could speak other languages besides English, in 2000 and 2010.
It is clear from the charts, that the proportion of students who did not speak any other languages was the highest in both 2000 and 2010. It is also clear, that in 2000, students who were able to speak two other languages made up the least percentage, while in 2010 the least proportion accounted for students who spoke Spanish, German and French.
It can be seen from the given charts that in 2000, the amount of students who could speak English only accounted for 30%, and the percentage increased up to 35% by 2010. 20% of students could speak Spanish in 2000, however by 2010, the figure declined to 10%, making Spanish one of the least spoken languages in this year. In 2000, the proportion of students able to speak French accounted for 15%, but the number also experienced a decline to 10% in 2010. The percentage students able to talk German in 2000 made up for 10%, and the figure did not experience any change by 2010.
