The bar chart reports 5 main reasons why adults aged 20 to 50 engaged in exercise, while the pie chart shows the most common places for this activity. Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that most people worked out in order to improve their appearance, and the most popular location for these activities is outdoors.
According to the bar chart, almost half of the respondents(40%) claimed the primary aim for exercise to be recreation, whereas for the other quarter(25%) it was muscle toning. Disease prevention was also a reason for the 15%, while less than 20% of adults in total exercised either to lose weight or elevate their mood.
Gyms are the most common indoor places to work out, chosen by 35% of people who exercise. It is followed by parks and public sport venues, where almost 40% of the adults work out. Meanwhile, playgrounds were used for exercise by the mere 15%, like other public places.
