The two bar charts reveal the conclusion of research on whether American couples or single individuals are happier and how this can effect children’s well being.
Overall, married individuals show higher level of happiness compared to unmarried people, with a remarkable difference in single senior citizens. Families with children and no children are all happy especially with younger children.
At the first glance young couples (18-29) dominated the leading rate at 45% of happiness, this is followed by 30-49, and 65 and over categories representing both 44%, whereas 40% of 50 and 64 aged Americans feel happy. In terms of unmarried people, 34% of the aged individuals say they are happy, this rate is relatively higher than 30-49aged ones by 12%. 18-29, and 50-64 aged singles come next at both 21%.
The second graph focuses on happiness and its relation with children. 44% of families with young children (under 18) are said to be happy which is the highest rate among others. Couples without children are also delighted at 34%. However, families with adults (18+) report the happiness rate of 41%.
