Overall, Rolex was the most significant supplier by far in both years. Rolex also increased its dominance, while all other companies lost market share.
The three biggest watch manufacturers in 2020 were Rolex, Omega, and Catier with 39.5%, 15.6%, and 14.5%, respectively. While Rolex increased its share to almost half from 39.5% to 46.7%, Omega saw a notable decrease to 12.7%. Despite a minor decrease of 0.7% to 13.8% in 2021, Cartier replaced Omega as the second-highest watch brand in 2021.
The remaining three competitors had around a tenth of the total sales in 2020 each, but all fell by approximately 1% in 2021. Of the three smallest brands, Patek fell the most, dropping from 10.3% to 8.8%. AP went from the smallest market share in 2020 to the fourth largest in 20201, achieving a percentage of 9.1% in 2021.
