Overall, it can be clearly seen that the highest level workforce at top management was white race, while the smallest proportion accounted for foreign nationals. Africans made up the highest level in the public sector by race, whereas Whites accounted for the highest percentage in the private sector.
The white population made up the largest proportion of top management positions in South Africa, at 68.9%. The proportion of Africans and Indians were 14.3% and 8.6%, respectively. The coloured population was 4.7%, while the percentage of foreign nationals was lower, at 3.5%.
Africans accounted for the highest proportion in the public sector at 73,2%, whereas Whites dominated the private sector at 72,4%. Colours made up 4.5% in the private sector and 7.4% in the public sector. Similarly, Indians made up 8.7% in the private sector and 6.5% in the public. Africans represented 10.8% in the private sector and White accounted for 12.6% in the public sector. Foreign nationals had a very small percentage, at 3.6% in the private sector and 0.4% in the public sector.
