Overall, it is evident that residential homes amount to more than half (57%) of all water consumption in Australia in 2004, the highest among the categories, while government offices have the least consumption of water. For residential areas, bathroom water usage is the highest contributor.
In detail, Residential houses are the highest consumers of water at 57%. This is followed by the residential apartments which occupies 13% of overall water usage. Industry and business locations almost have the same percentage contribution at 11% and 10%, respectively. Government offices are only half as much as industry.

Bathroom usage comes at the top att approximately 28%. Garden comes second at a slight percentage lower compared to the former. Washing clothes is the third main source at 20% while the fourth, toilet, is just 5% lower. Kitchen, being the lowest is only used half as much as washing clothes.
