The charts compare two different mobile devices – smartphones and tablets – in terms of the time spent on various categories. The figures are measured in percentages.
Overall, the largest amount of time is allocated on games in both digital devices. Of particular note is news, which shows relatively similar patterns on both smartphones and tablets.
Starting with smartphones, games recorded the highest figure, at 35%, followed closely by social networking at 29%. Utilities accounted for 20% of the total time, representing the third-highest proportion. Three remaining categories – music and videos, news, and other – each made up less than 10%, at 8%, 3%, and 5% respectively.
When it comes to tablets, games accounted for 57% of total time, followed at a considerable distance by social networking at 15%. Meanwhile, 13% of the total time was spent on music and videos, compared to 8% for the ‘other’ category. Interestingly, utilities and news showed almost no difference, at 3% and 4% respectively.
