The bar charts compare the percentages of employers who were between 60 and 64, by gender in Belguim, the USA, Japan, and Indonesia in 1970 and 2000.
Overall, the USA employers was the highest in both genders among the other countries, followed by Indonseia in 1970. Although the women employers in the USA remained the highest in 2000, the trend of men employers declined sharply and Indonesian men employers became the highest instead.
In 1970, the percentage of USA employers dominated in both men and women, at around 85% and just below 80%. This was followed by Indonesian employers, at about 83% and over 60% in men and women categories. Over 30 years, the figures for both countries decreased, but USA men employers(almost 80%) protected their title as the highest, while women employers in USA(around 40%) gave the first place to the Indonesian women(50%).
Turning to the trend for Belguim and Japan employers, the percentage of the men workers were almost same at around 75% in 1970 and declined to just above 50% in 2000. While the women in Belguim went down dramatically from about 60% to under 10% by 2000, the Japanese women workers fell gradually from around 55% to just under 50% until 2000.
