The two pie charts illustrate the predicted proportions of various electronic products manufactured in South Korea in 2030 and 2040.
Overall, the production of electronic devices in South Korea is expected to experience noticeable changes by 2040. In particular, the proportions of smartphones and tablets are predicted to increase, whereas those of computers and speakers are likely to decline. By contrast, the figures for headsets and smartwatches are expected to remain relatively stable.
In 2030, smartphones accounted for the largest share of electronic production at around 35%, followed by computers at 30%. Tablets made up 15%, while speakers, headsets, and smartwatches contributed much smaller portions, ranging from about 5% to 10%.
By 2040, smartphones are expected to see the most significant rise, reaching nearly half of all electronic production, while the figure for tablets will also grow moderately to roughly 20%. In contrast, computer production is projected to fall sharply to about 15%, and speakers will decline slightly. Meanwhile, the shares of headsets and smartwatches are predicted to remain almost unchanged at around 5% and 10%, respectively.
