The charts show how the proportion of boys and girls aged 5 – 14 taking part in cultural activities and sports recorded in Australia in 2003.
Overall, the percentage of girls in cultural activities was higher than that of boys, while sport attracted the largest number of boys.
In cultural activities, drama, dancing, and singing were significantly popular among girls with 5%, 25%, and 5%, respectively. Whereas boys accounted for the highest with 15% in the play musical instrument activity.
When it comes to sport, the percentage of boys preferred more than girls, making it the highest with 70% of the overall. Meanwhile, the figure for girls was considerably lower, at 55%.
