The graph illustrates the sales of five different kinds of jam between 2009 and 2014.
Overall, it is clear from the graph that strawberry, raspberry and grape jam increased over the period, with strawberry reaching the highest point in the graph. By contrast, plum sales declined steadily, while cherry sales fluctuated before ending slightly higher than the initial figure.
Of the categories with larger figures, strawberry sales stood out at the outset of the period standing at a high of around 3.1 million units. This number then followed a steady upward trend and peaked at 7 million in 2014. Meanwhile, raspberry sales started out at 2.8 million in 2009, then reached around 5.1 million in 2012, after that rose slightly to 5.2 million in 2014. The growth was much more marked with grape sales, which started out at roughly 0.5 million in 2009, then increased gradually throughout the years and reached around 4.5 million in 2014.
Turning to the remaining categories, cherry started the period with approximately 1.8 million in 2009. Despite some fluctuations over the period, figures ended at around 3.8 million in 2014. In contrast, plum sales underwent a substantial decline throughout the timeframe, dropping gradually from around 2.6 million in 2009 to nearly 0.3 million in 2014.
