The charts below show how often people of different age groups in Australia watched videos online
The pie charts compare how often people in four different age groups in Australia watched videos online.
It is clear that younger Australians tended to watch videos more frequently than older people. While daily and weekly viewing were common among people under 45, most people aged 60 and over rarely or never watched videos online.
Among those aged 25 to 34, 39% watched videos every day and another 29% did so at least once a week. The figure for daily viewers fell slightly to 26% in the 35-44 age group, while 27% watched weekly. However, 32% of people in this group said they rarely or never watched videos.
Older people were far less likely to watch videos online. Around 49% of people aged 45-59 and 65% of those aged 60 or over rarely or never watched videos. Daily viewing in these groups accounted for only 16% and 8%, respectively.
