The diagram illustrates the process of making ‘bánh Chung’. Overall, there are ten stages which have two main stages, beginning with soaking glutinous rice overnight and ending with unwrapping and serving Chung cake.
Initially, glutinous rice is soaked for one night. At the same time, mung beans have to be soaked and cooked in the pot. Next, we mix three of ingredients as pepper, salt and shallots into meat to make marinate pork. In the processing stage, preparing good and quality perineum leaves also play a crucial role in flavor and color. Afterwards, the mixture which includes marinate pork, rice and mung beans are put into a pattern to mold, add and fold which making Chung cake with square-shaped. Then we use bamboo strings to tie Chung cake.
Secondly, these Chung cakes are boiled over 10-12 hours, after that we place heavy objects on top to squeeze its. Subsequently, we let Chung cake outside for cooling and decorating. Lastly, whenever we eat Chung cake, we unwrap and serve with several foods like pickles, tubers.
