The given diagram demonstrates the process of constructing an igloo from snow.
Overall, this procedure consists of eight stages, commencing with processing hard packed snow into blocks and culminating in completing and checking the igloo’s structure.
As can be seen from the process, after an area of hard packed snow is found, a snow saw is used to cut large snow blocks to the appropriate size to build the base. Next, after the preparation for the base of the igloo is done, we can see large snow blocks being placed as a round-shaped wall with a diameter of 4 metres. Afterwards, construction workers add numerous smaller blocks of snow surrounding the sector of the wall and attaching the blocks with loose snow by hand, gradually expanding and making this architecture higher. This structure is then sealed with a button made of snow to fill it sufficiently for construction. Subsequently, workers build a small entrance for this structure and the igloo’s exterior design is completed, being 2 meters in height and 4 meters wide.
After finishing assembling the igloo, the construction worker starts going inside to work on the interior by drilling air holes in between snow blocks, making airway for ventilation. Once that is done, the finished igloo is formed and meticulously checked by workers.
