The diagram illustrates the process of desalination the sea water. Overall, this process involves multiple stages, starting from taking the water from the see, followed by various treatments to ultimately making water available for drinking.
The initial stage begins with extracting water from the sea then undergoes pre-treatment filtration-removing larger impurities and particles and returning them to the sea. Following this, the filtered water is forced through a membrane at high pressure, effectively blocking salt and other impurities and allowing water molecules to pass through. As a result, the desalinated water is seperated from the salt.
After finishing the treatmentthrough membrane at high pressure, the desalinated water undergoes post-treatment with lime, chlorine, and fluoride. This stage aims to ensure that the water meets the necessary standards for drinking, by adjusting its pH and adding necessary disinfectants and fluoride. Subsequently, the treated water is stored before being integrated into the water supply system.
