The diagram presents details about a description of how to produce a suitable drinking water from the sea.
Overall, it is obvious that desalination of seawater takes up about 46 stages, from 2 steps of water filtration, one phase of treatment with various chemical substances, until it ends up producing clean water.
Initially, water is taken from the sea through a pipe and in this phase, saltwater undergoes a filtering process where most of the big particles, including impurities and salt, are filtered through a pre-treatment filter. After that, the filtered water then goes through athe membrane at high pressure, which backwashes impurities and saltwater concentrate via another pipe. In the subsequent stage, the purified water then is flown to a post-treatment with some chemical products by adding lime, chlorine and fluoride. In the final stage, the treated drinking water is placed into storage and ready for integrated water system supply.
