The diagram illustrates various stages in the production of sugar from sugar beets.
Overall, there are nine steps in the process of making sugar from sugar beets, beginning with beets are transported after being harvested and finishing with sugar is centrifuged to crystallize to make the final product.
At the beginning of the process, having harvested in the field, beets are transported to a factory where dirt and rocks are removed by a truck. Next, these beets are cleaned by a larger washer before being cut into small pieces called cossettes. It is then putted in water at 70 degrees to create sugar juice.
At the sixth stage, sugar juice is sent to the next step when milk of lime is added to clean it. Subsequently, this liquid is fillterd to create pure clean sugar juice. From this, the mixture is heated several times at a certain temperature so that water can evaporate. Finally, it is centrifuged to crystallize to make the final product for delivery to individuals.
