Overall, the town has witnessed many considerable changes, one of which has been the emergence of new residential areas, complemented by apartment complexes and tourist amenities. However, this extension has come at the price of natural spaces.
Regarding the town’s southern section, the fish market and morning fish boats have been occupied by yachts, suggesting a shift from fishing to tourism. In addition, an apartment complex has also been constructed nearby. Meanwhile, the coffee shop has remained in the same location but is now part of a more urbanised setting.
Moving north, the original housing area on the west side has witnessed the introduction of new houses.Furthermore, the original sports area has been renovated into restaurants. The hotel, originally located centrally, remains but has been modernised and is now surrounded by more facilities, including a newly built restaurant to the west and a car park to the east.
In the northern part of the town, the previous farm land has been transformed into a gold field and a tennis court. Nowaday, many trees have been cut down to make way for holiday homes, indicating a move towards leisure and tourism facilities.
