The diagrams illustrate the floor plan of the central library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
Overall, the library has been significantly modernized, with new facilities like a café, a computer room, and a lecture room, replacing some traditional sections like reading rooms and newspapers.
Twenty years ago, the library had a straightforward layout. CDs, videos, and computer games were located in the top-left corner, while adult fiction and non-fiction books were placed on either side of the central tables and chairs. The enquiry desk was near the entrance, and the children’s books were at the top-right corner.
Currently, the library has undergone several changes. A storytelling section and sofas have replaced the area for CDs and videos. A lecture room is now located where adult non-fiction books were before. Additionally, a café and self-service machines have been introduced near the entrance, adding more convenience for visitors. Traditional reading areas have also been removed.
