The given pictures illustrate the way in which leather is manufactured from animal skins.
Overal, it is clear that the process consists of twelve distinct steps, beggining with the delivery of animal skins and ending with the finished leather being waxed and ready for use.
Initially, raw animal skins are transported from farms to a factory where they are sorted according to size before being trimmed manually to remove unwanted parts. Following this, salt is added to the animal skins to preserve them, and they are subsequently cured for 30 days to prevent decomposition. The next stage is that, the cured skins are soaked in water for 12 to 24 hours to soften them. The hair is removed using a knife.
After being removing hair, the animal skins are put into a rotating facility. At this point, salt and acid are added to ensure preservation. Then, the animal skins undergo a tanning process in which they are treated with chemicals to be converted into leather. In addition, the leather are coloured and softened using dye and oil after which they are dried with a specialized machine. Finally, the dried leather is waxed manually in order to enhance its look.
