The diagram depicts a process of the monarch butterfly’s life cycle
Overall, it is clear that the whole process is natural cycle, divided into four main stages. Also each of the main stages contains a few key factor steps. Totally it takes over 6 months for Butterfly to transform from egg to an adult specie.
Everything starts within Egg stage, laying an eggs on the milkweed. It takes about two weeks for larva to emerge from the egg and begin its next step in life adventure. It is called Larval stage, when Larva that just appeared from its egg is getting developed to the caterpillar on the milkweed. Finally it rolls and hangs down on some branch becoming a chrysalis during upcoming ten days.
After the important two stages have been passed, Pupal stage is being started after ten days of chrysalis form, at the time when fully transformed butterfly emerges from the chrysalis and starts a migration to the south which takes six months. And the last stage is an Adult one, when butterfly migrates to the north to breed. Where eggs will be laying on an appropriate place and the natural cycle will be repeated again
