The bar graph shows the information about the number of desk phone per 1000 people from 2000 to 2004 in 9 nations including Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Overall, the biggest number of wired phone owner always was belonged to Singapore. Whereas, the number of home phone user in each countries decreased except for Vietnam and Cambodia, which inclined over the time.
In Singapore, the number of people who used landline telephone was the highest in all these four years. After peaking at above 450 per thousand, it continously declined during the time and stopped at around 425 per thousand in 2004. The reverse case was Myanmar desk phone user’s number, which remained stable at approximately 5 per thousand over the period.
On the one hand, the number of wired phone owner in Brunei Darussalam and Phillippines started at 250 per thousand and nearly 100 per thousand then dropped slightly to under 250 per thousand and above 50 per thousand in 2004, respectively. Specially, the number of individuals who used fixed-line phone in 4 nations as Indonesia, Lao PDR as well as Thailand was recorded accordingly at around 25 per thousand, 10 per thousand and nearly 100 per thousand between 2000 and 2002. However, they all fell to 0 in 2004.
On the other hand, Cambodia and Vietnam were two countries, where the number of landline telephone owners witnessed an upward trend. They originally rose from around 10 per thousand and around 25 per thousand in 2000 to about 25 per thousand and 50 per thousand in 2002, respectively. Ultimately, they kept increasing accordingly to around 50 per thousand at the end of the given period.
