The pictures illustrate the blueprint of a library in 2001 and 2009. Overall, the library experienced significant changes to become modernised. The most noticeable being the additions of computers and children’s area, the remaining of some amenities and the repositioning of other facilities.
Regarding 2011, there were the self help room and history room ( along the) in the western side of the library while the stairs, newspaper and periodicals room were in the opposite position. Over the next 8 years, the seft help room, located right next to the entrance, was removed for the construction for history, fiction and another self help room. The similarity could be seen from the history room which was replace by law, economics and kitchen area. In the right side of the building, while the stairs undergone no changes, two computers were added to the northern side of the stairs. Within the same time span, newspaper and periodicals room, was in the east side of the library, was converted into an entertainment area where people could watch films and DVDs.
In the centre of the library, the fiction room, which was on the northern end of the building, was relocated to the west side and its initial location was replaced by an area containing books for children. Notably, the main feature which was the eight tables for reading, was removed by four bigger ones. Meanwhile, the librarian’s desk and the main entrance, located to the southern side of the tables, still remained.
