The two diagrams illustrates several changes made to the ground floor of the book room from 2001 to 2009.
Overall, the library underwent significant developments in terms of facilities and the addition of a lecture room. . The 2009 layout demonstrates a reorganization of space, highlighting a move towards a more diverse learning environment.
As can be seen in the maps, the previous area designated for fiction study in 2001 was replaced by a section for Children’s Books, while the space for Newspapers and Periodicals was transformed into the Films and DVDs room. In addition, in 2009, computers were installed next to the stairs, and a Children’s area was established on the northeast side of the Films and DVDs room.
The locations of the entrance, stairs, Librarian’s Desk, and tables remained unchanged over the 8 years; however, eight small tables were replaced by four larger ones. Moreover, the shrinkage of the Self-Help and History room to accommodate the construction of a Kitchen, Economics, and Law room was a noticeable change. Beside, the Fiction research area was relocated adjacent to these rooms, along the left side of the plans.
